Greetings fellow and future JSAers! 

      Given the relatively new and emerging nature of our region in the ORV, we in the Tennessee Valley Region are focusing this year on expanding our region, which currently encompasses TN, KY, and WV.  There is an immense amount of untapped potential in our area, with many high school students who are politically active but who do not yet know about JSA and its mission.  We hope that through working with ECCAD, the Mayors, and Chapter Presidents, we will be able to increase JSA’s presence in our region.

      Also, given our geographical distance from most chapters in the ORV, we work hard to ensure that strong relationships are built between chapters in our region and that new chapters receive all the support and encouragement possible from older chapters. 

      Our goals for this year include hosting our first mini-convention or regional event to increase our community’s awareness of JSA and to inspire students from across the area to start chapters in their own schools.  Furthermore, we have seen that JSA summer schools have been a great vehicle to introducing students to JSA, so we will continue to promote these programs among students in our region.

      Thus, we hope that you will work with us to encourage students to start chapters and to help new chapters get on their feet.  If we all work together in this endeavor, we can make this year the best year ever in TVR history!
