Regionals A regional is a one day JSA sponsored convention, which like all JSA conventions is student run! This one day event is held in one or both of the two regions, Ohio Valley and Great Lakes, and organized by the region's mayor. The event is often hosted on a college campus; such as the University of Cincinnati and Case Western Reserve University. A regional offers debates, thought talks, solution sessions, and a keynote speaker who is sure to inspire and inform the delegates. The regional is a fantastic tool for expansion and an excellent way to experience JSA without having to pay the full cost of a convention. This year the regional was themed "An Eye for an Eye, is America Blind?" and was hosted in the Ohio Valley Region. The event was held on the beautiful campus of the University of Cincinnati with the illustrious Professor Christo Lasiter, a world renowned law professor at UC, as the Keynote Speaker. The debates focused on the troubling amount of violence in America and what, if anything, the government and citizens should do. It was a great time for the new and reunited JSA delegates, who debated and shared laughs during lunch while listening to the sounds of the UC marching band's rehearsal in the background. The convention was a tremendous success by more then quadrupling previous attendance, bringing in several new chapters, and delegates coming from all over the ORV.
